The Seventh RiversEdge Schooner Shoot is planned for Sunday, August 18.  The sleek and photogenic schooner Lannnon in Gloucester harbor will host the event. We will have 4 SUPER MODELS and a maximum of 12 photographers.  This is a fun event that many photographers return to year after year.

The schooner sails promptly at 5:30 pm for a 2 1/2 hour cruise.  The sun sets during the last hour of the cruise, providing some great sky colors if the weather is nice.

Please note that the schooner shoot this year will run as a TFCD shoot, so you will owe images to the models if you participate in the shoot, just as you do for a regular monthly club shoot.

The cost is $140 per photographer.  The fixed cost for booking the schooner is large, so we won't be able to offer refunds unless the shoot is canceled.

Our eighth annual artistic nude shoot will take place on Thursday evening, June 20.  Shooting will start at 7:30 pm but everybody will need to arrive by 7:00 pm for an orientation meeting and to help set up for the shoot.  All photographers who can arrive by 6:30 pm to start setting up, please do!

There are only a limited number of photographer slots for this event.  Photographers must be paid RiversEdge members and sign-ups will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis up to our maximum capacity of 12 photographers.  We are planning to have a photographer:model ratio no worse than 3:1.

The cost per photographer is $95, payable in advance.  This covers the entire expense of the shoot; photographers will not need to pay an additional studio fee as is the case for our regular monthly shoots.

Payment is due by May 23.  We will not be able to give refunds unless the event is cancelled.

We are an active photography club that believes in learning by doing.  The CoverShot Photography Studio, where we meet, is a truly special resource that we use to get lots of first-hand experience actually taking pictures in a studio setting.  See the next news item for more information about our mission.

Our regular meetings take place on the second and fourth Thursday evenings of every month.  The meeting on the fourth Thursday is a photo shoot with models in the CoverShot studio.  The meeting on the second Thursday is a workshop where club members can learn and compare notes.  Each workshop meeting includes a program for learning about photography or photographic technology, or preparing for an upcoming shoot.  Members are also encouraged to bring their pictures or questions, for comments and suggestions by other members.

In addition to these regular activities, periodically the club organizes special photography outings or events that members can participate in for an extra fee.
